BETWEEN JULY AND SEPTEMBER OF 2018, NORTH LOMBOK WAS HIT BY FOUR MAJOR EARTHQUAKES AND OVER 200 AFTERSHOCKS, KILLING HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE AND DISPLACING THOUSANDS.

North Lombok lost 439 schools in the devastation, leaving over 75,000 children without a safe learning environment. With the Education Department stating that it would be over two years before permanent schools could be rebuilt, The solution was to build temporary, earthquake-safe buildings for local teachers and students to return to in the meantime.

I joined Australian based NGO Classroom of Hope for several field visits during the period of the so called #Projectlombok. The Project is based on a cooperation between adventure blogger Jackson Groves and the NGO and accomplished to raise over 100.000 AU$ through social media for the construction of several Pop Up Schools by the local NGO Pelita Foundation.

The goal was to create captivating pictures which would be mainly used for social media of the involved NGOs and participants of the adventure trip during and after the corwdfunding phase.

During the first field trip Mark Harrison produced a Video for the launch of the campaign which was shared widely across (mainly) Instagram, accompanied with posts where my pictures where used.
